STEM week
Date: 27th Jun 2018 @ 11:12am
What a fantastic week it has been so far! On Monday, we walked to Stretford Grammar School to take part in some Forensic Science activities. The children had a great time using microscopes to look closely at fibres, extracting DNA, observing real bones, taking fingerprints and making impressions of shoe prints.
On Tuesday, we were lucky enough to have the RSPB come in to talk to us about habitats. We looked at our school grounds with a fresh pair of eyes and realised that we have far more habitats and micro habitats than we first realised!
We ended our day with making the tallest tower we could out of cocktail sticks and midget gems. Exciting stuff! There was a lot of nervous tension in the room when it came time to see if they would actually stand unaided!
This morning, we have been working in groups to create stop motion animations. I can't wait to see how they turn out!
