Date: 25th Mar 2020 @ 8:40am
Good morning everyone!
How did your wildlife activities go yesterday? Thanks to those who managed to put something up on Google Classroom
Today we would like you to firstly complete your Arithmetic Test 3 and Comprehension 3. After that, it is time to start out new topic- Ancient Greece, complete with our first whole year group Kahoot, from a distance!
In your exercise book, on a double page, write today's date and title Ancient Greek Family Life.
Then visit https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/z87tn39/articles/zc8yb9q
Create your double page research project about family life in Ancient Greece. Your subheadings could be:
1. Introduction
2. Home
3. Family roles
4. Fashion
5. Toys
6. Food
Remember to summarise your findings using full sentences. Addition connectives (moreover, in addition...) would work well. Include drawings too!
Kahoot
To see how much we have found out from our research, we will then be playing an Ancient Greek Family Life Kahoot! At 3pm today, go to https://kahoot.it/ and enter the game pin. I will post the game pin back here on the blog at 3pm! I will give you about 3 minutes to enter the game pin and your first name before I click play. As this is our first time trying Kahoot, we may have some problems, so don't worry if you don't manage to get on. Check the blog for updates from me and don't forget you can add comments here too!
Happy researching everyone and we will be back on at 3pm for a live Kahoot!

Date: 25th Mar 2020 @ 8:39am
Morning everyone
How are you all today?
I have been experimenting with different recipes last week and have enjoyed what I have made so far. My favourite has been a lentil spaghetti bolognese - mmm. (This isn't the one I made, it's from the recipe I followed.)
Your task today is to help an adult make a meal. It could be for breakfast, lunch, dinner or even a snack. Once you have done this, write a set of instructions about how you made it, like a recipe book. Please put today's date in your blue book and write your recipe in there. Don't forget to add in an image of your creation.
Extra challenge:
In your blue books, write down as many words as you can find in this boggle.
One point for every letter you use.
eg. 9 letter word = 9 points, 4 letter word = 4 points
What books have you all been reading? Comment below and recommend some to your friends.
Good luck,
Mrs Edwards and Miss Higson

Good Morning Year 5!
Miss Jones and I have both really enjoyed reading some of your riddles that you have posted for one another on the classroom. We will post another for you to answer today!
Today you should be focusing on the third set of activities from your pack. Again, there has also been a MyMaths set, please check if you have not already completed. We have also set an assignment on the classroom for anyone who wants to share the work they have done at home so far! One of you asked whether this should be by docs or slides - you can choose!
Miss Higson has kindly reminded us all that you can send a comment to us via these blogposts - if there is something you're not sure about. Your message will come up to the teachers. Just scroll down a bit now to where it says 'Post your comment'. Why don't you see if it works and say hi!
Alongside your pack work, why don't some of you (if you can) get creative? Choose a challenge from the list below and go for it! (Check the challenge is okay with your adults first). You could also try out a Rube Goldberg machine - think back to our science lessons on them. I have attached some links to some good examples below.

After a bit of exercise take a break and then it's time to look at your learning pack. Today we want you to complete pages 6, 7, 8 and 9 in your maths booklet. After this, choose on of the SPAG mats and complete that and finally, practise your handwriting and spellings by using the Year 3&4 National Curriculum spelling mat.

If you wanted to keep up with computing you could go on there and watch some of the help videos and then create your own game. Don't forget to comment and tell us if you have created something for us to go and have a look at.

Good morning Year 6!
It must feel a little strange today (and probably has this weekend too!) but today, like any other Monday, is the start of a new week of learning. It will just look a little bit different! Our quote of the week this week is "The price of greatness is responsibility."
It is really important that you make a good start to your home learning today. For this reason, your first task today is to create a home learning timetable . 9. Don't forget break times too!
Record your timetable in your blue exercise book. Today's date Monday 23rd March and title Home Learning Timetable. Try to organise a work space too (a table is best if you can).
In your home learning pack, we have directed you to do certain maths/English activities every day. Today you have Arithmetic Test 1 and English Comprehension 1. We will also update the blog each morning with other tasks and ideas, such as what you can do for exercise in the house.
We hope you enjoy your first home learning day. We are thinking about you today!
